Data Levels - a clear journey from good to great product data
Not every supplier has a complete, industry standards ready data set. Data Yard works with suppliers no matter their data capability and supports them on that journey to completeness.
The Data Yard Data Level framework provides a clear pathway from essential product identification through to full ETIM classification, allowing suppliers to improve data completeness over time.
Like the signal strength on a mobile phone, more product data unlocks greater capability across the whole sector improving systems, integrations, and digital channels.
-
Essential product identification. Product name, brand, part numbers, GTIN and a product image.
-
Product data required for procurement, trading and logistics. Accreditations, compliance data, packaging dimensions, delievery information and basic environmental flags.
-
Product data required for print and basic digital trading. Selling descriptions, product features and benefits, additional images, datasheets, and installation instructions.
-
Carbon and enviornmental data required for tendering, reporting and sustainability compliance. Full EPD data, circularity information, timber attributes and waste packaging data.
-
Full ETIM classification for consistent digital trading and specification. ETIM Group, Class, Feature, Value and Unit data. Enabling full interoperability across systems.
Data levels are a journey, not a test
Data Levels are not a pass/fail system. Suppliers receive a completeness report showing their current level and what product data is required to reach the next level.
The goal is continuous improvement and every step up the levels delivers more value to merchants and users accessing that data.
All suppliers start at level 1 as a baseline, target to reach at least level 3 and are supported to progress from there.
